ZOETIS/AAVMC VETERINARY STUDENT SCHOLARSHIP
OverviewZoetis and the Association of American Veterinary Medical Colleges (AAVMC) are pleased to announce the 2021 Zoetis/AAVMC Veterinary Student Scholarship Program. The program has awarded $7 million over the past 11 years helping to offset education expenses for more than 3,300 2nd- and 3rd-year veterinary students. The program focuses on addressing the issue of student debt, as well as the need to foster diversity in the profession – issues that will greatly impact the future of the veterinary profession. Scholarship CriteriaIn addition to the traditional selection criteria of academic excellence and financial need, the scholarships will focus on meeting ongoing needs of the veterinary profession – diversity, sustainability, and mixed/rural medicine practices. Scholarships will be awarded to students with career interests in all areas, including food animal medicine, small animal clinical medicine, research, government services, public health, organized veterinary medicine, etc. Through the Zoetis/AAVMC Veterinary Student Scholarship Program, AAVMC and school leadership will identify outstanding veterinary students who can help address our changing world and the health, food, and welfare needs of the U.S. veterinary community. Recipient AwardThere will be approximately 300 student scholarships available at $2,000 each in grant scholarships. The program provides equal opportunity for applicants, regardless of location, by using total student enrollment at each veterinary school as a means of determining the available number of scholarships per school. Student Criteria
- Currently enrolled and in good standing at a school of veterinary medicine in the United States
- At application time be a 2nd- or 3rd-year veterinary student at a U.S. school of veterinary medicine
- Students at Ross, St. George’s, and St. Matthew’s universities are also welcome to apply
